About me

I received my MSW in 1983 from Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work. With 38 years of experience, my background includes working with individuals, couples and families in both agencies and in private practice, work with chronic psychiatric patients in both inpatient and community based settings, and school counseling with middle school students. In addition, I deliver parenting workshops on dealing with bullying, raising middle schoolers, and helping children cope with stress.

I am licensed in both New York (CSW License # 031049-1) and New Jersey (LCSW License # 44SC00534700), was admitted to the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.  In addition, I am a certified School Social Worker.

I approach therapy with warmth and empathy and, most importantly, without judgment.  I think most of us judge ourselves quite harshly, and can be our own worst enemies.  These judgments often stand in the way of accepting who we are and how we feel.  I believe I can help you to gain insight into self-defeating patterns so that together we can move through challenges in order to achieve understanding and change.
